Life with a Coton

Living with a Coton is less like owning a dog and more like sharing everyday life with a small companion.

They like to stay close and be part of what happens — sometimes quietly nearby, other times right in the middle of everything.

They are very social dogs and want to be included, but they are not just lapdogs.

They enjoy walks, play and training just like any other dog, and often join activities like rally obedience, agility or nosework

At the same time they are individuals — personalities vary more than people often expect.

Everyday moments

Life with a Coton is full of joy and presence.

They often insist on following you everywhere — even into the bathroom — convinced that nothing important should happen without them.

They are cheerful, observant and often unintentionally funny. The breed has long been nicknamed "the little clown" — and it still fits perfectly in everyday life.

You don't really own a Coton — you share life with one.
